I've been playing banjo now for about 40 years and about32 of it has been on a 1938 RB-3 (original flathead).
My life changed in 1962 after hearing the Ballad of
Jed Clampett. My brother was involved in the folk music
boom of the early sixties.......I HAD to learn banjo and play "like Earl". THANK YOU, EARL!
One of my memorable moments was while filling in on banjo for The Berkshire Mnt Boys, Bea Lilly leaned over to me and said:"you pick that thing like Earl!"
So you see, you have made an impact, on not only me, but also thousands of thousands of others, too.
I hope some day that I can shake your hand and thank you personally. Once again, thank you very much!
