There is a brief mention of him in Earl's instruction book. I believe that there is a CD about NC banjo players (2 CD set) and there is one cut on it from Mack (The Man Who Wrote Home Sweet Home Was Never a Married Man), I believe...the memory is going. I have nothing else in my library on him. Good Luck. You may want to try the Cleveland County, NC, public library.
