Excuse the misfire on the first attempt. You are correct about this album...gangsters indeed is what they were supposed to be...I know because it was the first Flatt & Scruggs album I ever bought and it was largely because of the movie, Bonnie and Clyde. I had played 5-string before in the folk music days; but I had only a periphery knowledge of these two gentlemen at that time. Still have the LP...and FMB still sounds as great as the first time I put it on the turntable! Regards.
