I'm an aspiring banjo player who also owns an antique store. Earlier this year I purchased the estate of a woman who ran her general store until the age of 90 here in DeFuniak Springs, FL. I ran across an audio tape where she basically told her life's story.
Reaching way back into here girlhood, she related a story of a barn dance in North Carolina she had attended, in the '30s I guess. The music was provided by a "skinny lil' ol banjo picker named Earl Scruggs".
Wish I could find the tape now to relay the other details!
