It appears that my replys to Donny Kimble's question about where to get some of Earl Scruggs' songs in tab, posted yesterday, 9.27.02, has been removed from this site. Doc Warlick responded and suggested that Donny go to Earl's book to get tabs of Earl's work.

I wrote a post back and accidently sent it to Doc Warlick reply instead of Donny Kimble's original post, saying that while Earl's book contained many wonderful anecdotes and history of his banjo style and the history of where he learned to craft his 3 finger style of banjo playing, it also has many inaccurate tabs.

I also added that Bill Keith wrote the tabs and the notation contained in the book but that "Peer International Publishers" made many errors in the tab portion of Earl's book--even to the point of attaching portions of other songs to certain songs in the book. Bill Keith offered to repair the damage but was firmly refused by "Peer International Publishers".

I offered my site at: www.frettedinstrumentsnyc.com as an alternate source for accurate tabs and midis of Earl's songs and also mentioned other good sites to visit in my "links" section of my site.

It does seem that my replys to Donny Kimble and my accidental reply to Doc Warlick have been removed from this site. I meant no disrespect to Doc Warlick or Earl Scruggs' family in any way. I have been a dedicated fan of Earl Scruggs since I was a young boy many years ago and have the deepest respect for Earl and his work. He is the very best and a fine gentleman.

If I have somehow missed the my previous posts from 9.27.02 somewhere on the site, then I apologize. If they were taken off because of my remarks which were honest, sincere and fair, then I will no longer participate in the site since it will be obvious that posts are indeed censored and honest posts by decent and fair minded people will probably never be heard.

I am truly sorry if this is the case.

Earl's book remains a "Classic" but fair and open minded discussion is more important than a few controlling censors of the site........Jack Baker
