Thanks again for the help on the banjo strings everybody. I have another question though. I have heard that the banjo drum will need replaced occasionally. Does this have to be replaced often? I am hoping that my banjo drum will never need to be replaced. This idea sounds scary.

Dont Worry About It. It only needs replaced on average once every 5 years. Any Music Shop or Banjo instuctor can do it for you. If someone teaches you, you could learn to do it yourself. You will be fine. Just keep on a pickin.

Thanks for answering my question about my banjo drum. I have owned my banjo for a month and two weeks now so it will be awhile before the drum needs replaced. I am learning from the Earl Scruggs and the Five String Banjo book and the CD is really a big help! It is really helping me to keep in rhythym and timing. Now I am working on sliding and picking at the same time! I love practicing the banjo and Earl Scruggs is a great banjo teacher!!!! From BANJO GIRL
